SWF plug-in for WordPress
Jim Calixto has written a WordPress plugin called WP-SWFObject for embedding SWF files that uses SWFObject. Great stuff -- I'm off to download it now.

Michael Bester developed the Kimili plugin for WordPress and TextPattern that also uses SWFObject.

This looks cool, but as I looked at the code it is a bit limited in its current dev state. The syntax is very similar to the kml_flashembed version, but without the options like express install, etc..
It does leave a lot of room to tool around though, and for those looking for quick and easy I imagine it will fit the bill just perfectly. Another plus is that the swfobject js code is external. Michael had stated that he was very pleased to have been able to include the code in his plugin file directly, but having the js code external allows for an easier incremental upgrade.
It is always good to have more than one option though, so cheers to Jim!!

[...] So Aral blogged about a new swfobject plugin by Jim Calixto and I was curious to see what it was. Basically it is a similar idea, with some limitations as to how much you can effect with it. I recomment having a look at both and then desciding. Hell, maybe I will write my cake version to a wp plugin as well… [...]
