I just read that the company Mike Britton was working for just fired their entire staff. I haven't met Mike in real life but I do know him from the Arp mailing list, where he is very active. He's also built his blog using Arp and is now reworking it in Flex 2 and ActionScript 3. One of my main criteria when hiring developers is how active they are in the community and how passionate they are about what they do. Mike appears to have those bases covered.

• Hi guys, Mike if you're reading the comments here, just a few points from your site to aid your job search; -on the contact page, the contact form is set to single text field, meaning that i can't make new paragraphs or cut and paste from any of my company documents -an email address on the resume would be good, frankly our HR does almost all of its initial contact via email and if they don't find it quickly they'll pass on to the next -when I couldn't use the form or find an email address, I tried to leave a comment, but I got a general error message that didn't really tell me how I had messed up in leaving a comment (missing field maybe?) PLEASE don't think I'm being a jerk here - I go through a lot of resumes and usually I wouldn't take time to point out these things, but I think your work and skill set is pretty tight. Just make it easier for companies to hook up with you. -MW

• hey Mike, have u seen rentacoder.com im not plugging the site but it is a good 3rd party way to pick up work, if uv got the skills there a people that will pay you per assignment etc.. i make some extra out of it! Cheers
