You no longer have to log in to comment on my blog.

Why did writing that sentence scare the crap out of me? I half expect to find myself up to my neck in comment spam within the next ten minutes but I'm putting my sanity in the hands of the Bad Behavior and Akismet plug-ins for WordPress -- the combination of which is rumored to be almost entirely effective against blog spam.

• For mine...until I started using Akismet I just had it set so that a persons first comment was approved. Once approved once they can comment at will. Cheers, Brent

• Two words and a number for you: Spam Karma 2. I tried out Akismet, and while it was ok, it wasn't as good. Spam Karma is ridicululously solid. And for whatever the reason, spam bots seem to want to my parents to see their shtuff... SK2: http://unknowngenius.com/blog/wordpress/spam-karma/

• Hi, I figure this is the best place to ask. I'm trying to access your RSS feeds (http://aralbalkan.com/feed/) or (http://aralbalkan.com/comments/feed/) from a standalone flash app I created but I'm unable to access them. They work fine from Firebox/IE just not from my standalone flash app. I'm guessing it has something to do with Bad Behavior and User Agents. Am I out of luck here? I had no problem getting the RSS feeds from osflash, thanks.

• Hey Joey, I forgot to add the crossdomain.xml file to the new site -- that should be why you're having trouble. I just tested it with my Flex-based RSS reader and the feed is working from the following URL: http://aralbalkan.com/feed/ Hope this helps and sorry for the hassle. I'm sure we'll have a few more hiccups before everything is back to normal :)
