FOWD NY: Web and mobile fun in the Big Apple.
Last week I was in New York, speaking at the Future of Web Design conference, where I presented the second day opening keynote and taught a new one-day workshop on iPhone Design & Development.
I attended both days of the conference and loved the other sessions as well as the venue, and, of course, New York, where we got to see Driving Miss Daisy with James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave, eat at Bubba Gump's overlooking Times Square (what an experience), and enjoy the culinary delights of the excellent The National restaurant (where we had the most amazing Branzino), and knock back a couple of espresso martini's at the W Hotel (they serve the best ones I've had anywhere).
I was also elated that my keynote got some rave reviews. So, as usual, here's a compilation before they get lost forever in the bowels of my Twitter stream (yummy analogy, I know!)
.@aral is presenting - great start to day 2!
Fantastic presentation from @aral about experience design. Perfect way to start the morning.
@aral Hi, I am Sarah I was at the FOWD today and was so impress by your presentation. Great Job and vending machine was a good one lol!
@aral your talk was phenomenal one of the best so far. Wish you had longer.
@aral was a great talk! Looking forward to workshop even more now!!
Another day of great speakers at the Future of Web Design conference, especially enjoyed @aral ..looking forwarded iPhone/iOS Dev tomorrow
@aral Hey Aral, it was really funny, it kept me and my art director laughing the whole time : )
And here is some feedback from my new one-day iPhone Design & Development workshop that I taught at FOWD NY.
The goal of the workshop was to give an overview of designing for the iPhone and to empower students to make the right decision about which – out of a handful of carefully selected – technologies (or combinations of technologies) to use when building their next iPhone app.
Created my first iPhone app - very basic - but loving this and soaking up great teaching from @aral - can't wait for pt2 ...starting now!
@aral 's workshop just made my head really hurt.
Wow, a full day with @aral and getting started with iPhone app designing and development. A lot of things in my head now!
Thank-you all again for your lovely, kind words about my talks. It really does mean a lot for me that you enjoyed them.
