'Avit: now available!
After a two month delay, I'm excited to announce that my first iPhone app, 'Avit, is now on sale on the App Store (iTunes link) for £2.99 (or 3.99 € in the EU, $4.99 in the US).
What it does
'Avit is an iPhone app for Safari Books Online subscribers that lets you scan the barcode from a book and start reading it on your iPhone.
You can see it in action in the video above, or on the 'Avit homepage.
You can also bookmark found books to read later on your mobile phone or desktop as well as find the lowest price for books, CDs, DVDs, and anothing-else-with-a-barcode.
Things to try
- Find books you own that are on Safari Books Online so you can sell them and make some extra cash
- Scan a book at a bookstore to see if it's on Safari Books Online or whether you should buy it
- If a book is not on Safari Books Online, find the lowest price for it online
- Also find the lowest price on CDs, DVDs, games, etc. (Anything with a barcode, really!)
'Avit wins Super Techie Coder Challenge
A big thank-you to the community for giving 'Avit the most community votes in the Safari Books Online Super Techie Coder Challenge. Thanks to you and to the jury, 'Avit was just selected as one of the three winners.
