The complexity and scope of Flash design has increased in recent years. At the same time, Flash has become the web based delivery platform for multimedia web delivery, and what was once considered advanced Flash design is now mainstream and usually on the wish list of most clients. The ability to design compelling complex Flash content is no longer a requirement but a commercial necessity.

Thus, although many web designers now need to include Flash design in their portfolio, the level of experience needed before Flash becomes useful has gone up, and in particular, current Flash designs typically require a good understanding of the role and use of ActionScript within the design process. The ActionScript for Designers course provides the skills needed to meet this challenge.

This course is not just another training course by just another trainer, but a course taught by Sham Bhangal who has taught perhaps more Flash and ActionScript to designers through his successful and long running “Foundation Flash” books than anyone else. Don’t miss your chance to actually learn from Sham in person. As an additional bonus, the tutor will be on hand for email or phone support indefinitely after the completion of the course.

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at web designers who have some knowledge of the Flash interface, drawing tools and tween-based animation. The designer is able to create simple Flash sites (consisting of buttons and tweened animations), or has created limited Flash content as part of HTML based pages. The designer does not have the skills necessary to sustain a design when it comes to creating more advanced techniques and effects seen in the current cutting edge Flash designs. Specific candidates include:

This course provides an entry level course for those designers with no programming experience who want to eventually take the other Ariaware programming course, Introduction to ActionScript 2, which teaches object oriented code design.
