A quick reminder that the session I'm presenting tomorrow at FOTB has changed. My new session is called Grab the low-hanging fruit: or 5 rules for Hedonistic Creatives.

The session may have changed but, lest you worry, it's still taking place at the awesome time of 9am. So, once you've left tonight's party at Audio, head straight down to the Dome for some after-party fun!

Hoping to see at least three of you there tomorrow morning (and yes, that's you, Mom, Dad, and Stephanie!) :)

• Talking about low hanging fruit, Aral... When will SWX be updated to support AS3? ;) Now you've given me the excuse to not be so lazy, I've decided to pick up that haXe SWX project again. The first task is to remove Neko from the name, as we'll now be able to compile it to PHP, too :D

• Hey Aral! Many thanks for the inspiring session! I'm stuck in this cyclistic rut of learning code to learn it, making code from tutorials but never actually making any of my own. And I realised, and you encapsulated this, I'm scared of breaking my code! I don't make code in case it breaks and so then I can't figure out how to debug it and then I give up on it and my idealistic dream of this super wonder code is lost forever. I worry about stuff like Should this be in the constructor? Have I data typed this correctly? etc. I worry so much about the experience that I forget to enjoy the experience. Its a general approach to my life. I'll remember about the fruit I when I start to worry again. :)

• Did you go? ;-) I guess I'll be nursing my headache and trying to avoid those whom I embarrassed myself in front of. I bought your book today, Aral. The open-source Flash book. reckon you could sign it for me? If you bring the haXe book, I'll sign that, too... A fair trade ;-) I'm going to finish the night off eating some fried chicken and reading the late Robert Jordan's The Great Hunt for the fourth time. If only I had't fallen so much for that 'pound a pint' ordeal. :-(

• It was a great talk!! Woops I think I misquoted you in an older blog I was running, I mistakenly thought Keith Peters wrote the introduction to his book http://cat-biscuit.com/blog/?p=19#respond Anyway, I read that piece of text to myself whenever I feel off-track and under appreciated and confused by the job market. I thought that I was a tinkerer and needed a computer science degree to call myself a developer. But computer scientists don't tend to be proactive ideas people. I will keep a look out and keep chasing dreams.
